Avatars that scan your face may be illegal in Illinois
The state of Illinois has one of the most powerful laws in the United States when it comes to stealing someone’s facial information. Many apps and other computer services offer to “scan” users facial characteristics to make “avatars” or other visual representations of someone’s face. This is likely against the law of Illinois. Facial data can be used by hackers and other bad actors to steal someone’s identity. If this happened to you, we want to hear about it.
