Printing your face in the paper might be illegal in Illinois

There are multiple news outlets, including newspapers and other tabloids, who publish peoples face in order to sell more news. This is most commonly seen in so-called “arrested rags” or tabloids that publish the photos of people who have been accused of crimes. Some studies argue that a high percentage of such accused individuals never committed any crime…and yet their face is published for all the world to see. The worst part for those innocent victims, is that the news outlets who publish such photos are earning a profit by doing so. CRA is looking at ending the practice of for-profit publishing of people’s photos online, or in newsprint. Contact us to learn more about how you can end the practice.
